    NEW YORK CITY - The Sisters of Life, a religious congregation with a special fourth vow to protect and enhance the sacredness of human life, is pleased to announce that seven sisters professed their first vows as Sisters of Life on June 25, the feast of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Suffern, N.Y. Bishop Salvatore Matano of the Diocese of Rochester, N.Y., was the principal celebrant and homilist. Mother Agnes, Mother Superior of the Sisters of Life, received the sisters into the community at the Mass.

    Brother Kevin (Eugene) McGuire, O.S.B., monk of St. Gregory’s Abbey, died July 7 in Shawnee. He was 83. Brother Kevin was born on May 17, 1939, in Oklahoma City to Paul and Doris (Ayotte) McGuire. He was baptized the next day and raised in the parish of The Cathedral of Our Lady of Perpetual Help along with his two brothers and one sister.
