POSITION TITLE: Coordinator of Campus Evangelization and Discipleship
FLSA Status: Exempt
Reports to: Chaplain and Director of Mission
Date: February 2026
Supervisory Responsibility: Supervises Volunteers
Summary:
The Coordinator of Campus Evangelization and Discipleship is responsible for all aspects of collegiate ministry at the University of Central Oklahoma with the chaplain, pastor of St John the Baptist Catholic Church, archdiocesan staff, volunteers and student leaders. This position will also help coordinate Young Adults, ACTS and Alpha for the parish.
This position is required to convey the Church’s message and to assist in carrying out the Church’s mission. Essential Functions
· Coordinate a strategic response to the unique needs of the University of Central Oklahoma student body by developing a vision and culture of missionary discipleship; working with the FOCUS Team
· Promote and coordinate opportunities for encounter, i.e. retreats, conferences, mission trips, and pilgrimages and service
· Coordinate and publicize consistent weekly events that promote Evangelization and Discipleship, with the parish and Broncho Catholic community
· Recruit and accompany a student leadership team
· Lead and organize ongoing outreach efforts to regularly encounter and evangelize to new students; working with the FOCUS team
· Ensure students have regular access to the Sacramental Life of the Church
· Coordinate and lead a team, with the chaplain, to promote fundraising and long-term development of ministry efforts on campus
Additional Responsibilities
· Coordinate and oversee the Catholic Student Organization and oversee the Student Center facilities
· Organize a consistent communication structure that promotes hospitality and invitation among the students
· Partner with St John the Baptist Catholic Church and outside ministry organizations
· Devise and oversee a financially responsible budget for Campus Ministry
· Assist Dir of Mission with promote, organize and plan additional Evangelizing ministries. Ex. Alpha, ACTS, Young Adults
· Other duties as assigned by the chaplain
Qualifications:
· Ability to effectively make known the Catholic Church’s teachings
· Have a good understanding of discipleship and evangelization and be able to foster that understanding in students through relationships, formation and training
· Bachelor's degree preferably in Theology, Religious Education, Pastoral Ministry or some related field
· At least two years of experience in campus or young adult ministry, specifically in discipleship and mentoring
· Basic computer knowledge, the ability to communicate through social media, and use simple graphic design (i.e. Publisher, Canva, Photoshop)

· Must possess good problem-solving skills
· Must have the ability to effectively communicate both in writing and orally
· Must be a self-starter, service oriented, have the ability to manage multiple tasks, have the ability to work with people of various ages, backgrounds and cultures
· Must be able to manage time well
Work Environment
This job operates partly in an office setting and partly in a relational setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets. It also demands significant evening and weekend working hours, and occasional overnight trips.
Physical Demands
This is partly a sedentary role but also requires physical stamina due to the pace of campus life. Requires mobility to move about in a campus or group setting. Lifting and moving of materials and equipment for presentations is required. Must be able to drive.
Travel
Travel is required as needed to meet students on campus, attend workshops and in-service trainings sponsored by the Archdiocese and others (as approved by the Pastor), as well as national conference in coordination with the chaplain.
