In 2001, alongside their classmates, Anna Radunzel and Zakk Luttrell made history as the first graduates of All Saints Catholic School.

All Saints Catholic School opened in 1996 under the leadership of Archbishop Beltran, with the support of Saint Joseph Catholic Church, Saint Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church and Saint Thomas More Catholic Church in Norman, so that the light of Christ would shine upon every child.

For the third year in a row, the Mount Saint Mary speech and debate team is Class 4A state champions, crowning many individual champions, including: Claire Galloway and Thomas Suarez in policy debate, Galloway in domestic extemporaneous speaking, Suarez in original oratory, Kenneth Nguyen in informative speaking and Ella Burdette in program of oral interpretation.

The final quarter of the school year is notorious for being busy with Olympics Week, prom, ACT and SAT opportunities, AP tests, reviews for said AP tests, and finals all happening within the span of two months. Not to mention Oklahoma’s infamous unpredictable, severe weather causing further disruptions.

We monks at Saint Gregory’s Abbey listened to this book during our evening meal. The book tells the story of the Vaux sisters who hid Catholic priests in England during the rule of the Tudors and the Stuarts.

On Nov. 11, the bishops of the United States voted to consecrate this nation to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. The consecration will take place this year to celebrate America’s semiquincentennial, that is, the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

Near and far, converts fueling rising numbers of new Catholics

In 2021, Archbishop Coakley instituted the first Priest Appreciation Week in the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City. During this week, starting on Good Shepherd Sunday, April 26, parishioners and families are encouraged to do something to thank their priests, such as writing a thank you note or spending time in adoration or some other act of appreciation.

Upon arriving in Assisi, Italy, in March, I was immediately struck by the city’s profound beauty and spiritual depth. From the moment I stepped off the train, there was a palpable sense of the presence of Saints Francis, Clare and Carlo. Assisi provides a rare opportunity to walk in the footsteps of both the great saints of the Church and a saint of our modern time.

The living Stations of the Cross, with more than 20 years of tradition at Historic Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Oklahoma City, is a clear reference point for evangelization about the passion, death and Resurrection of Jesus.

As the year nears its end, the DanceVisions team is staying busy inviting the public to various shows.

Mount junior Danica Burgdoff, who has been singing and dancing much of her life, found a passion for musical theater this year. That passion will be on display soon when she fills the lead role of Elle Woods in her first school performance – “Legally Blonde JR.”
