“I Can Pray Anywhere” presents the reader with a simple but, very important lesson, and that is, we can pray any moment of the day and for any situation.
The book is about a young boy learning to develop the habit of prayer as he experiences various daily activities. Rising in the morning and getting dressed. Eating a meal. Or something as simple as giving his parents a kiss.
Award-winning author Donna-Marie Cooper O’Boyle, provides us with cheerful, catchy rhymes which support each activity, and Jim Starr has done a great job with the very relatable illustrations that engage the reader. I really like the practical, real-life situations and found that the illustrations easily captured my attention and led me to spend more time on each page.
Advancing through this book we gain reassurance of God’s constant presence and his willingness to hear our prayers. The lesson gained provides hope and confidence for developing the habit of praying at any moment, anywhere, and for any reason.
While the book may seem to be designed for young children, I believe it would also serve as a wonderful read-aloud book parents or guardians could use in reading to any child of any age.
“I Can Pray Anywhere” is an enjoyable, lighthearted book with a very important lesson for us all to create the habit of reaching out to God through constant prayer.
