Cristo Rey, growing in every way

We are looking forward to another year at Cristo Rey OKC Catholic High School!

This summer, our incoming students graduated from Summer Success Training where students grow skills to work one day a week. This year we have 56 corporate partners across all industries and last year, 93% of our partners reported having exceptional experience with our student workers. 

We are excited for another successful year with 11 founding partners returning for their seventh year and adding new partnerships with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Latitude Legal and Remerge. 

Our class of 2024 received 100% acceptance into 4 –year universities, while 96% of those had three or more acceptances into 4-year universities. We cannot wait for our class of 2025 to lead the school. One of our favorite first day of school traditions includes our seniors arriving to school before dawn to toast with orange juice and donuts the start of their senior year at our Senior Sunrise celebration.  

We are also growing our curriculum to continue to offer our students a rigorous, college preparatory education. This year, every senior will have a college-level math course by adding AP precalculus to our offerings of AP calculus and college algebra. Our first-year students for the first time will chose an elective pathway based off their interests that can lead to AP art and design or AP computer science. Additionally, our Oklahoma history teacher, Mrs. Crofford, attended professional development with the Library of Congress and is bringing units of study designed from their archives back to students in Oklahoma history. 
As we start the year, I am inspired to see new clubs and organizations, including our Dorothy Day Service Club, along with others that continue to flourish, such as our Ambassador Program, Drama Club, Knitting and Crochet Club, and our cultural clubs including Asian Cultural Club, Black Student Union and Hispanic Student Association.  

Our motto that can be heard each day is “Lead with the heart of a servant. Serve with the heart of a Royal!” The academic year 2024-2025 will be the best year yet with each of our students, faculty, and staff bringing their spirit, mission and drive!
