Coming to an end The end of the school year is coming to an end, but for the seniors a chapter of their lives is also coming to an end.
But not before some special events.
The seniors enjoyed their blessing of the robes Mass and the ringing of the bells event. During the blessing of the robes, the seniors celebrated Mass with their parents and the school community. Father Zak Boazman blessed the seniors and their robes. The students took pictures with their parents and other family members.
They also walked through the school hallways “one last time,” ringing the bells. The blessing of the robes and ringing of the bells were the start of the final steps for our seniors. They will truly be missed by the entire school.
Coming up: decision day, when the seniors will announce to our community where each is going to college or other plans are after high school.
Remembering Blessed Stanley Rother The freshmen class embarked on a field trip to Okarche and to the Blessed Stanley Rother Shrine. They learned about the life of the Blessed Stanley Rother and were able to visit where he lived throughout his life.
At the shrine, they visited the church, visited the museum and walked up Tepeyac Hill to visit our Virgin Mary and Saint Juan Diego. They had an amazing time learning about Blessed Stanley Rother.
A Royal pep rally The freshmen hosted Spirit Week for the students, planning each day with a theme.
Monday was “Throwback Day,” with students dressing in the tradition of their favorite decade. On "PJ Day Tuesday,” students wore pajamas (the students’ favorite theme day). Wednesday brought “Swap Day,” with students dressing as teachers and teachers as students. Thursday was "Western Day,” with many students wearing cowboy boots and western clothes. Finally on Friday, it was “Color Wars,” and each grade was assigned a different color. Freshmen wore black, sophomores yellow, juniors white and the staff wore blue. The freshmen also hosted a pep rally at the end of the day.
They had a game for the teachers: musical chairs, with twist – they had to run to a student and gather school materials. The students also played musical chairs with a twist: wearing blindfolds until the music stopped.
After the games, all the spring sports members were announced and the teams took a picture together. The spring sports this year were rowing, e-sports and girls and boys soccer. It was an amazing start to our weekend.
Many thanks to the freshmen for hosting their very first spirit week and pep rally. With the school year coming to an end, events like this make these last couple of weeks fun and memorable.
