Upcoming film focused on Eucharist Adoration includes Archbishop Coakley
DENVER – Following the success of “Jesus thirsts: the miracle of the Eucharist,” Executive Producer Deacon Steve Greco returns with a new theatrical release that invites audiences to deepen their understanding of one of the Catholic faith's most cherished devotions.
Through stories of faith, renewal and personal encounter, “Adore him: he is here” is a docudrama that explores the profound impact Eucharistic Adoration continues to have on believers around the world.
Written, produced and directed by Don Johnson of Runaway Planet Pictures, “Adore him: he is here” combines cinematic storytelling with firsthand accounts from clergy – including Archbishop Paul Coakley – ministry leaders and faithful Catholics whose lives have been transformed through encounters with Christ in the Eucharist.
Fathom Entertainment has acquired the U.S. theatrical distribution rights to “Adore him: he is here,” and will release the film in theatres nationwide Oct. 4-8.
Filmed across multiple locations, the docudrama traces the story of salvation history, from the Ark of the Covenant to the Eucharist, while illuminating how this centuries-old devotion continues to inspire believers today.
For Executive Producer Deacon Steve Greco, “Adore him: he is here” represents the next chapter in his mission to use media and storytelling to inspire faith and evangelization through the power of cinema.
“Adore him is a powerful and transformational cinematic experience that underscores why we must cultivate this devotion personally and in the Church,” said Deacon Steve Greco, executive producer. “My hope is that this film deeply inspires a true understanding of Eucharistic Adoration that sparks a renewal of this devotion, underscoring to the point of grace to change individual lives and the world in which we live.
“Eucharistic Adoration is a continuation of the Mass, and to illuminate the central aspect of our Christian faith in a way that is relatable and compelling is what can lead many to a personal encounter with Jesus Christ.”
Released in partnership with the Roman Catholic Diocese of Orange in Southern California, “Adore him: he is here” traces God’s presence throughout salvation history, from the Ark of the Covenant in the Old Testament to Christ’s ministry on earth and the gift of the Eucharist. The film culminates in a powerful exploration of Eucharistic Adoration and the ways Catholics around the world are encountering God’s love through the Blessed Sacrament today.
Writer, director, and producer Don Johnson collaborated closely with Greco to bring that vision to the screen through a combination of cinematic reenactments, historical storytelling, and personal testimony.
“We have traveled around the world to tell this story, our story, and the universality of our Catholic faith that is built on Eucharistic devotion in the Mass and in the practice of Eucharistic Adoration,” said Johnson. “I have been deeply moved by the testimonies and personal holiness of those we have encountered who share their stories of deliverance and renewed faith because of their Eucharistic encounters.”
