Position Overview
Cristo Rey OKC Catholic High School is seeking a dedicated and passionate Head Coach to lead one of 
our athletic programs. The Head Coach will be responsible for developing a competitive, disciplined, and 
character-driven team culture. This role requires leadership both on and off the field/court, emphasizing 
academic achievement, personal growth, and athletic excellence.

Essential Functions
▪ Plan, organize, and lead practices, games, and team activities.
▪ Develop and implement strategies for individual and team improvement.
▪ Foster a positive, respectful, and disciplined team culture rooted in sportsmanship.
▪ Monitor and support the academic success of student-athletes.
▪ Communicate effectively with athletes, families, staff, and administration.
▪ Ensure program compliance with school policies, conference rules, and NFHS 
regulations.
▪ Manage assistant coaches and delegate responsibilities as needed.
▪ Serve as a mentor and role model for student-athletes.
▪ Safely operate a 12-passenger van and abide by all traffic rules and regulations.

Qualifications
▪ Previous coaching or playing experience required (head coaching experience preferred at the 
high school, club, or collegiate level).
▪ Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
▪ Ability to build strong relationships with student-athletes and families.
▪ Commitment to the mission and values of Cristo Rey OKC Catholic High School.
▪ Must pass background checks and complete Safe Environment training.
▪ Must provide current CPR/First Aid certifications (or have a willingness to obtain).
▪ Must hold a valid driver’s license.
▪ This is a lay coaching position; teacher certification is not required.

Supervisory Responsibility
This role supervises the assistant coach and any managers or volunteers associated with the team.

Work Environment
This position requires presence at scheduled practices which take place at the designated practice 
facility. Travel to both home and away games as well as tournaments is also required. 

Position Type and Schedule
This is a part-time position that requires availability to conduct practices outside the hours of a normal 
school day [7:30am to 3:30pm] during the regular season. Games occur in the evenings and some 
weekends. This position will work with the Athletic Director to establish and uphold a consistent 
practice schedule for athletes and coaches alike. 

Compensation
Stipend provided and paid on a bi-weekly schedule. Amount is commensurate with experience.
